Dryden Youth Conference 2023
Our youth are the next generation of Christ-followers and leaders. In a world where there is a battle for their attention in every direction they can go, there is a need to invest time, energy, and love into their lives to help them navigate this chaotic world.
That's why we felt called to bring to life an event for our region that will help them experience God in a new way. Throughout this weekend, our goal is to bring the youth of Northwestern Ontario to a place where they can freely worship God and meet with Him, all while discovering more about themselves and meeting new young believers that they can share their lives with. If you are in grades 9-12 (ages 14-18), join us at Dryden Full Gospel Church October 13-15, 2023 for our first Dryden Youth Conference. Youth leaders are invited to come and connect with the young people and other leaders within our region! Our theme, Ablaze, is set to focus on how God impacts our lives and sets our hearts on fire for Him in order to spread His Gospel message to the corners of the earth. It all starts with letting Jesus into our lives to shape and form us, setting us ablaze! In addition to times of worship and hearing from our speaker, there will be opportunities to connect with new friends through other fun activities and events on Saturday. The cost to attend the conference will be $55 if your registration is received by September 30th. After that, you can still register (even at the door) for $65. This includes breakfast, lunch, and supper on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. If you know someone in Dryden that you can stay with during the conference, amazing! Otherwise, you can book a hotel or we are working on making arrangements to host your students at our church - we don't want accommodations to be a barrier that prevents you from attending and would love to work with you to find a solution! This page will be home to information updates about the coming conference. You can also submit your registration for the conference here. We look forward to seeing you in October! |
Update - September 14th, 2023
We are one month away from the conference... who's excited?! We certainly are!
Our schedule is now posted for the weekend and most details have been worked out at this point. Some of the free time activities we have planned (pending the ability to set them up) are things like karaoke, board and card games and other self-led types of activities. Nothing will really be solid on these activities until that weekend, so look forward to that surprise! We are also planning to have a major group activity running on Saturday afternoon - laser tag! Nomad Mobile Laser Tag will be here Saturday afternoon with their equipment set up on our property to run rounds of laser tag for students.
The next update has to do with accommodations. We are going to be setup to host out of town groups overnight at the church during the conference. This was done in an effort to make sure that the added cost of a hotel wasn't a problem for those coming to join us. If you are needing to arrange this as solution for you, please email brian@dfgc.ca to discuss this. There will be separate designated floors for males and females and chaperones will be on site throughout the night. Our hope is that this will remove any barriers that exist and that we will be able to see more of you in Dryden!
WHAT TO BRING:
We have confirmed our contributors for the weekend! Brian Tysdal from Deeper Life Ministries will be speaking at our sessions. Brian has acted in various ministry roles over the years and taught (and is also teaching again!) at Eston College. He has a heart to see lives transformed and for people to be discipled, and we look forward to what God lays on his heart for the youth of our region. Deeper Life Ministries out of Strasburg, SK will also be providing us with a team for worship during the weekend. This team is involved in camps and prayer and worship ministries throughout Saskatchewan. The other contributors to the weekend will be a ministry team from Eston College out of Regina, SK! These students will be coming to be involved in ministry as a hands on part of their Biblical education. We are really excited for all of these groups to be a part of what God is going to do this October!
Finally, if you are looking at all of this info an still aren't convinced, please feel free to touch base with Pastor Brian at brian@dfgc.ca to talk about the conference. We are confident that God is going to do some amazing things, and we would love for you to be a part of it. If you can't come out and be a part of it, we invite you to still pre-order a conference shirt! Check out the information on the registration page about the tee shirts and sizing, and email Pastor Brian letting him know that you would like a shirt. They are $15 until September 30th and we will work to get it to you when they come in.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support. We are very excited and expectant about this weekend!
