True North Christian Academy is a Christian school which prepares students for life by centering academic studies around Scripture, character development and spiritual formation.
Our Values
At True North we hold the following core values; these are integral to who we are as a Christian educational institution. We value:
A positive learning environment which fosters academic excellence and a life-long love of learning. We desire for our school atmosphere to promote confidence, self-esteem, cooperation and respect for others. We value honesty, reliability, modesty, and high standards of personal conduct and responsibility.
Excellence in teaching where effective teachers combine their strong academic Christian background with concern for the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of each student. We require Principal/Teacher to be licensed with the Ontario College of Teachers.
Interdenominational community; therefore, we embrace the broader Christian community by providing Christian education for all families regardless of their specific church background or faith tradition.
Our Student Outcomes
Our desire is for our students to learn well and live a vibrant faith by beginning to grow as a:
Loving follower of Jesus Christ who has a personal relationship with the Lord, grounded in a knowledge and understanding of God's Word, learning to participate in God's story of redemption through prayer, worship, forgiveness, witness and community.
Competent communicator who can read, write, speak, listen and understand in light of godly values.
Virtuous thinker who is able to make healthy, morally responsible choices; discovering and demonstrating their God-given potential and learning how to engage with their culture.
Responsible learner who is self-directed in goal-setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and able to reflect on one's values and lifestyle.
Whole person, made in the image of God, created for relationship; maturing physically, socially, mentally, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
Growing in Christian maturity is a lifelong journey. We understand that these outcomes begin to develop simply in our younger students but our vision is that these outcomes will grow with the students as they mature, carrying on well beyond their time at True North. We realize that we cannot expect to achieve all of these outcomes perfectly due to our sinful human condition; nevertheless, we celebrate when we see our students living these values as faithful believers.
